Travel to Oman's interior villages to see local people demonstrating their traditional Omani crafts on this wonderful day out from the capital, Muscat. Including visits to see how pottery has been made for centuries, a lesson on how to make the sweet dessert halwa, a traditional Omani dessert, as well as silk and linen weaving this is THE day out for anyone interested in Oman's rich cultural heritage.
Itinerary
Depart the hotel at around 08:00hrs and set off first to visit the old town of Fanja to see how pottery has been made since time immemorial. We will then visit Bid Bid for a lesson on how to make halwa, a traditional Omani dessert.
Lunch will be spent with local Omani's in a traditional restaurant, then afterwards we visit Samad Shaan for silk and linen weaving with a drive through Wadi Tayeen on the way home. We finish with a transfer back to our hotel the early evening.
